Receiving a crown usually happens over two appointments. At the first appointment, we will prepare the tooth being treated after first removing any of the decayed or weakened parts of the tooth. Once this has been done, we’ll take a digital scan or impression which will be used to make your personal crown.
At this point, we’ll be able to provide you with a temporary crown which you’ll wear for two weeks or so while your crown is being made. Once made, we’ll place the crown for you here shaping and cementing it into place. In some cases, we may be able to use our in-house Cerec machine to bespoke-make your crown for you right here. This means we’ll be able to apply your crown in just one appointment, and you’ll be able to leave the practice with your tooth fully restored.
